carbon NEUTRAL BEER

The brewing industry has a long history of high energy consumption and waste generation. Therefore, in 2021, we took a courageous step by committing to carbon neutrality and producing only carbon neutral beer. Recognizing the need for assistance, we teamed up with Climate Partner, the experts in carbon footprint measurement for beers and our company. It brings us immense pride to announce that, with Climate Partner’s support, Drop Bear has achieved carbon neutrality since its inception!

WHAT DID WE MEASURE?

In collaboration with Climate Partner, we thoroughly assessed scopes 1, 2, and 3, including offices, travel, brewing, packaging, and more. Starting in 2019, these measurements were time-consuming but worthwhile. By calculating our carbon emissions, we offset them and pinpointed areas for impactful changes, reducing our environmental footprint and creating carbon neutral beer.

OFFSETTING PROJECTS

We produce carbon neutral beer by supporting 53 global projects, including a certified wind energy project in Brazil.

This project involves 14 wind power plants in Piauí and Pernambuco, reducing CO2 emissions and providing renewable electricity to the Brazilian Interconnected System.

The project also brings socioeconomic and environmental benefits to local communities through collective construction efforts.

Wind energy helps combat global warming as it doesn’t rely on fossil fuels and contributes to sustainable energy production.

We calculate emissions saved based on the CO2 that would be released using conventional energy production methods.

Our focus now is on reducing emissions throughout our business and supply chain while continuing to offset our impact.

You can support us on our mission by supporting our business. Buy a pack of our beers here.
