It’s in the can!

Have you heard the latest?!  Our award-winning alcohol-free craft beer is now available to purchase in cans! Not only do our cans look good, but they do good too. So, if you fancy a little more insight into our decision to transition Europe’s best non-alcoholic craft beers from bottles to cans, you can check out our reasons below…

1. Reducing our Carbon Footprint

Our mission is to brew the best alcohol free craft beers and build a better world in which to drink it and with that comes great responsibility to the health and wellbeing of our society and our world  . Cans are lighter and more compact than glass bottles so, it takes less fuel to ship them, reducing our carbon footprint. Cans are also super easy and less brittle to carry around on all your awesome life adventures! Now there’s no excuse to go anywhere without a Drop Bear…

2. Recycling ♻️

Did you know, here in the UK we recycle on average 50% of all glass and 72% of all aluminium cans? Drop Bear’s bold, crafty, vegan and gluten free beer isn’t just available in the UK of course, and aluminium is the world’s most recycled packaging material, meaning our beer cans can be more easily recycled worldwide. Each can you place in a recycling bin can be back on the shelf within just 60 days!

3. Freshness

We’re lookin’ fresh, and that’s not just the word on the street! Let’s get scientific…

Cans limit exposure to both light and oxygen, keeping the beer inside fresh and flavourful for longer! Now, if you’re anything like us, the beer doesn’t stay in ya’ fridge long enough for you to even think about this! However, when beer is exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light for extended periods, it leads to oxidization and an unpleasant “skunky” flavor in the beer. Luckily for us, we chose brown glass bottles which block out a significant amount of UV light (more than other colour bottles!), whilst aluminum cans prevent all light from reaching the beer inside.

Ever opened a bottle of beer you’ve left on a shelf for waaaay too long and wondered what happened? Yep, that’s why! Top tip – always store your beer in a cool, dark place, or the fridge!

Ever wondered why cans give that iconic, mouth-watering ‘schhhh’ on opening? Well, cans also create a better airtight seal than beer bottles. During the canning process, the aluminum container is completely sealed, which prevents additional oxygen from reaching the beer until someone opens the can. In contrast, beer bottles let tiny amounts of air in, which if left, can add up over time (again, we never have this problem -our beers don’t last us long enough! ).

Lastly, we thought it’d be best to finish up by giving you a little reassurance, just in case (we care about you after all!). Will our non-alcoholic craft beer taste any different when consumed from a can than a bottle? Simply put…No!

Blind taste tests conducted around the world have shown that there’s no consistent difference between the flavors of bottled and canned beer. At Drop Bear we have also conducted many tests on our award-winning beer and intentionally chosen high quality aluminium cans to ensure there is no metallic taste and therefore, guaranteeing the taste of our entire range of non-alcoholic beers is not affected. Either way, we prefer to drink our beer from a Drop Bear Beer Glass!

So to finish we thought we’d leave ya’ with this message!…

Can or bottle, store ya’ beers properly and always recycle  .
