Cheers to Trees!
This November and December, we, Drop Bear Beer Co. have pledged to plant one tree for every order of our award-winning alcohol-free beer placed on our online store.
Why plant trees?
You may have seen that more and more businesses are planting trees in their mission towards sustainability this year, but do you really know why? Why trees? What impact does planting trees have on our environment? Why are we, Drop Bear, planting trees as part of our own mission? Here’s the low down:
Climate change, as we all know, is a serious and complex issue effecting our planet and trees are one of the best tools we have in removing carbon pollution from our atmosphere. According to the Woodland Trust, trees are the “ultimate multi-taskers in the fight against climate change”.
How do trees help prevent climate change?
Trees are viewed wisely as a powerful weapon against climate change. Through photosynthesis, trees become the ultimate carbon capture and storage machines. Trees can help:
- Capture, and therefore, reduce carbon
- Prevent flooding
- Reduce pollution
- Reduce city temperatures
- Keep soil nutrient-rich
Why does this matter to Drop Bear?
Quite frankly, climate change is a concern to us all. We’re on a mission to brew the best alcohol-free craft beer and build a better world in which to drink it. This doesn’t mean waiting for government legislation to change, or simply seeming to ‘jump on the band wagon’. No, we want to take ACTION, we want to do MORE. That means alongside brewing award-winning non-alcoholic craft beer for you to love, re-generation is our priority as we aim to make a positive impact on our customers, the brewing industry and the world. Â
Planting a tree for every order from 1st November to 31st December 2021 is just one small action we can take to have a positive impact on climate change and reduce our carbon footprint.
Where will the trees be planted?
Drop Bear has it’s very own forest! We use an amazing platform, Ecologi, to plant trees for every Drop Bear employee each month and we will be using this platform to plant our trees. In January 2022 we’ll be totaling our orders from November and December 2021 and we will be making a donation to ensure the planting of the equivalent number of trees into Drop Bear’s Forest.Â
We know that there are billions of concerned people on this planet and I know that all Drop Bear employees (and even the famous Drop Bear ) join me in stating, we truly and personally want to make a difference. We want to help our amazing customers to shop their favourite craft beer more sustainably, and we all want to help our communities do a little extra good this festive season .
So, cheers to our amazing customers, cheers to great alcohol free beer, and most importantly…cheers to trees!
